Facts about myself:
1. I should be doing a research assignment instead of writing a journal entry, but I'm not.
2. Finally learned how to shop for groceries and cook for myself! Woohoo, I won't starve to death when adult-life comes knocking.
3. I've been feeling uninspired. Still lots of story ideas and characters stuck in my head, and they'll stay there if I keep thinking, "I'll draw it when I'm sure it's perfect."
4. My right hand is probably being overworked. I now have an additional 3 joints that I can crack because I've been gripping my pen too damn hard.
5. I've drawn quite a few things, but I haven't uploaded anything because I'm lazy and there's too much school work and I've got an animation project I haven't finished yet D: Deadline is approaching dammit... (excuses excuses excuses...)


Questions:

1. The name of a song that describes your current life? (Closest year or half of year.)
   
   I don't know if this really describes my current life or I just really like it: Koda - The Last Stand. I've been feeling mellow and had bouts of inspiration. Blah blah blah life stuff blah blah. I've been thinking about what I want to do with my life in the artistic direction and whether or not I should be bold and express what I want to do in a completely blunt and honest way, or if I should be more practical with the way I draw. I don't know. Stress from all the work I have to do doesn't make things any easier. I'm starting to get an idea that I'll have to think for myself and do things that I want to do, instead of just following orders, which is actually more frightening than liberating. I've got tons of responsibilities now. It doesn't feel like I know where I'm going. It feels more like feeling your way through a thick fog. Anyway, we'll see where life goes. This year has sucked, but it has also brought some insight to my life, which I greatly appreciate. 
   
   
2. Your MOST favorite mythological/legendary creature?
   
   Oh man, I don't know. I wanna say dragons, but that's so vague... I haven't read about mythology in a while. The Phoenix? It's the only one I can come up with at the moment. I like the idea of destruction and rebirth as a form of immortality instead of just eternal youth.
   
   
3. Do you have any knowlege in programming? Which language?
   
   I took a Javascript class for a week, but that was years ago. I know minimum amounts of Actionscript just enough to copy and paste commands, knowing what they do and edit some scripts, but that's it.
   
   
4. Do you know what KITO is? And how good do you know it? (No googleing plz.)
   
   No clue at all, apologies.
   
   
5. What is the place do you wish to visit? And why?
   
   Oh, this is a tough one. I would love to travel to the countryside of any country, whether that be farmlands or mountains/valleys or anywhere. As a city person, I rarely get to see much of nature, beyond the trees and the grass in parks, which doesn't count. Or underwater/in a cave. I don't know, I can't think of a specific place, but just anywhere in the world untouched by people for a long time (ruins of old civilizations works too) would do.
   
   
6. You were told, that you will die in closest 24 hours. What will you do? 
   
   Those story ideas I mentioned that were stuck in my head... I would write them all down and draw them as fast as possible. Then I'd say goodbye to friends and family if I still have time.

   Ambient Electronic music (Koda, Stumbleine, Mr. Suicide Sheep, Spirit Sisters)
   Trance/House/Dance/etc. (Oceanlab, ATB)
   Modern Folk/Traditional music from any country especially ones that use acoustic guitar and soothing vocals and make you feel like you're travelling to a surreal place (The Wailin' Jennys, The Weepies, variety of Chinese, Mongolian, and Tibetan folk music plus other stuff)
   **Video Game Soundtrack may be a separate genre, but I listen to these a lot (ocremix ftw) if they fall under these three categories.
   
   
8. Your worst habit?
   
   I bite my nails. I don't bite them off, I just try to fold it so that it's pointed. I don't know why. Also, my pinky is somewhat crooked, which is natural, but I've gotten a habit of bending and pushing it to crack a knuckle, but it adds extra stress to my thumb since I rarely give my right hand a rest. My muscles hurt.
   
   
9. Do you like to work alone, or in command? And which role do you play?
   
   Not sure what the question is asking... is it whether I prefer working alone or taking charge over a team? I definitely prefer working alone in terms of art/animation. I haven't found a style I'm comfortable with and my drawing skills aren't nearly strong enough so I can just randomly sketch my ideas out coherently, so I'd have to work those things out before I even try to work with other people whose styles and visions will be totally different than mine.
   
   
10. If i asked you to work on something serious together, would you agree? No matter what exactly, just in common.
    
    Sure, if I have time. I've stopped making promises because I realize I break them too often, but I'd be willing to.

Without spoiling for anybody who might come upon this journal, I would like to say that I have been spending the past few weeks being completely and utterly obsessed with Assassin's Creed 3. I won't be specific about the plot points, but just pointing out, the story is actually amazing. They brought back something from AC1 that made the first game really interesting for me. The character animations are even better (and arguably, the characters themselves are much better), so much so that I've actually been feeling miserable because of a character death (this is not a spoiler, the title is Assassin's Creed :3). Been roaming around the frontier just enjoying the scenery and the atmosphere (especially since now I've finished literally everything in the game). So anyway, maybe I'll upload some fanart when I'm done finalizing some stuff. Still stuck with a ton of work for school, and I haven't uploaded anything in like a year...

Maybe I'll upload some stuff I did for art class if I ever get around to taking pictures of them or bringing them home. Hmm. Anyway, I missed a lot of holidays, and didn't get to say Happy Halloween or Happy Thanksgiving (and the list goes on), so I hope you had a good time!

To all the people that I'm supposed to watch regularly, I am still checking your galleries~ Everybody's improving so quickly, and I feel like I missed out on a lot, but it's great

Haven't posted anything since December. New journal time.

Summer's here, but I still have work to do, so not much time to draw. Still got exams to prepare for, which is just... *sigh* I'm trying to draw more often and find some decent things to post, but I've mostly been fooling around with photoshop. I haven't drawn anything big yet, so I'm probably still gonna be inactive for a very long time. Hopefully next year, I'll be more motivated to draw and etc. because I'll be taking actual art classes in school. I need to sharpen my skills.

My questions:
1) Favorite dA artist?

...That's very very very hard to decide, so I'll just list some on the top of my head right now. There are so many more, but gahh, I've already failed to answer the question D:



2) Favorite comic/graphic novel/manga?

A cute little slash short: Ikemen-kun and Saenai-kun. But a manga I really like? Claymore. I'm such a feminist, but c'mon! Girls with giant swords, hacking off crazy monsters, and some intense drama and interesting plotlines? Hell yeah~! Besides, I'm sick of all the crappy, "ooh save me, saaave me, I'm so weak I can't do anything" dummies lying around every corner of manga, TV shows, etc. Well, they're improving nowadays, so s'all good~

3) What food would you want a one month supply of?

Pizza. Doesn't matter Italian pizza or Chinese pizza (or as my mother tells me: 饼 or Italian 饼--it's Chinese for "pancake" or flatbread or something, and if I didn't use the character, I would be saying bing, which sounds like the search engine, or if you understand mandarin and can read pinyin, it could mean sick, ice, and a whole lot of other things that I don't know cuz I'm not good at Chinese). I dunno why pizza, but I love pizza. I've always loved it before, but only recently did I discover that I could probably eat it every day for two months and not get sick of it.

4) Favorite video game?

No question about this: Assassin's Creed. I am a die-hard fan of the series, and nothing's changing that. Actually, I must be one of the few people who weren't upset with the Brotherhood (and possibly Revelations ending--NOPE I DIDN'T SPOIL A THING BY SAYING THAT. NOPE NOPE NOPE).

5) Biggest pet peeve?

Nrgh... at the moment, this 8 page essay that's looming over my shoulders, slowly draining away my energy and taking away my freedom and civil rights. Cuz, uknow. Everything bad must be syphoning away our basic liberties... or something... That did not make sense, see how sleep-deprived I am? I need some adrenalin.

Then again, the question is probably referring to something that affects me overall and not just temporarily... Wait no, still the same. I dislike papers. Don't get me wrong, though. I love papers. Printer papers. Sketchbook papers, even looseleaf papers. Just not... writing papers...

6) What do you do on a rainy day?

Sit at home, snuggled up on the couch, watching TV, on the computer, or munching on cookies. Maybe all of the above. Maybe I'll also be drawing something. Most likely, however, I would be at home, procrastinating, until really late at night, where I would scramble to get all my work done, then collapse, and be forced awake in the morning, shoved into a vehicle and transported to a building with sharp, florescent lights, forced to keep my eyes open, ears working, and my hand ready to reach the ceiling to keep my participation grade up and... I should stop, this could go on forever.

7) A dream you had that you wished was reality.

There are so many... Which to choose from... I'll just list some. There's one where I'm on a mission to get to some destination and I'm at a harbor and these guards are standing watch, so I have like two guns. One is useless, the other only has two bullets (as I recall, one's a lucky gun, the other is supposed to be the good one? or was that another dream...what's with all these guns?) so I charge in there, running liek crazy, shooting two of the guards, and probably missing cuz I wasn't looking, I reach the boat, I go to the island on the other side (now that I think about it, I probably could've swam to the island too...) and then I find this suitcase with 5 weapons for me to choose from; one's a metal stick, second's a bigger metal stick, third's a giant slug (I mean an actual green, slimy slug), the fourth's an even larger slug, and the fifth is a rocket launcher with...one rocket... so... I choose the even larger slug and I haul it over my shoulder, even though it's not heavy, and then I go back to the harbor, and it's already nighttime (I know I'm indecisive, but really? It takes me half a day to choose?) and I get on the boat ready to set sail and suddenly there are all these decapitated zombie limbs, moving around and trying to get me, and so I start swinging this huge slug at them and they all start disappearing or dissolving or something, and I jump into the water cuz zombie flesh... that's just disgusting... then I swim back to the harbor and that's all I remember. There was a dream where I led a revolt against a school. And I got shot in the head in the process, but I removed the bullet from my forehead, and while I felt that there was a hole there, I was totally okay and ready for another battle. Another one was about a werewolf (way before the Twilight craze, so no hot werewolf Jacob bullcrap, ok?) or something and I remember running around in a park and friends getting eaten and someone's head falling off and a red strand that was like blood and I got hit, but I woke up and I didn't turn, and... Are these run-on sentences annoying you? I'll stop, cuz I can't even remember these things... too long ago, man... I should've written them down... you know, if someone reads this and start analyzing it or looking up the symbols or whatever, they'd think I'm a crazy person. But that wouldn't happen, hahahaha... wait I'm writing this in my online journal... aww crap... Maybe I should've chosen the dreams about flying instead.

8) Favorite music artists?

Chicane, Enya, BT, Owl City, Trading Yesterday, Jesper Kyd, Ayria, Angelspit, Zombie Girl, ATB, Breaking Benjamin. You know. The ones that 90% of the people I know have never heard of. Cept for Owl City and Breaking Benjamin, maybe, or Trading yesterday... and Assassin's Creed fans know Jesper Kyd... Damn, wait, I just gave away who he was. There goes my plan to force you guys who are reading this to look up who they are

9) Where would you go if you could go anywhere in the world?

ITALY! Well, hmm... I've been there before, and it was FRIGGIN' AWESOME, but the issue is I have no idea how to speak Italian. Maybe China. Bah, they could tell I'm a foreigner before I even open my mouth Uhh... Yellowstone. Or some place breathtaking. Like in all those documentaries and stuff. Then again, the question doesn't ask for if I wanna stay there or not. Hmm... then... Venice. I need to see those canals and gondolas! D:

10) If you were a character in a book/comic/anime/movie, who would you be?

Curses. I have no friggin' idea. Uhh... I could say something cheesy like, "Oh, I'm unique, so no character could perfectly fit me" but that's boring, so... I would be... um... asdhfkdsajghk Carrie from Carrie by Stephen King... just minus the whole crazy religious mother and not knowing how to socialize and stuff, and yeah, I could see myself as a telepathic, misunderstood, murderous psychopath. But I have friends who love me and whom I love in return, so I'm not into that killing kind of stuff. Not in real life anyway ...why are you looking at my typed words like that?

11) Name a show you used to watch when you were 10.

I don't think I remember what it was like being 10. Probably... Dragonball Z. I had a CRAZY obsession with that show... and as I like to brag: I never watched a single episode, yet I probably knew more than the average fan. Yep. I was that obsessed. Still like it, though now I can see its flaws (huge muscular guys with no brains, crazy wives who clearly wear everybody's pants, crazy battles, where everybody just gets exponentially stronger as opponents also get ridiculously stronger, eventually extending beyond the universe and comprehension of our merely mortal minds). But hey, this show got me back into drawing stuff, so s'all good~

I can't really say I've been drawing more often than usual because I'm mostly just doodling on the side of my notebook in class. Sadly, school is still being stressful, and I'm not feeling inspired to do anything at the moment. Things are moving slowly, but I'll still be on DA occassionally, and hopefully catching up to the people I watch (I have not forgotten about you guys!). I hope maybe I'll get around into finishing something sometime, although it doesn't seem like it.
